Writing and Project Management
Fiction and nonfiction, multiple genres, print and digital, including ebooks and ecourses. I specialize in writing for the healthcare and wellness industries, but I have written for a wide variety of audiences. Writing often includes these services:
Interviewing
Face-to-face, phone or video conference meetings with sources. I ask them questions, they answer, and I use a selection of those quotes in a news article or story. I also do an extensive interview, or several, when ghostwriting.
Ghostwriting
Interviewing a person, and then writing that person’s story in their voice and style, either with their byline or an “as told to” byline (your preference).
Research and Fact-checking
I do some research for just about every article, and check facts as part of that.
Editing
Developmental Editing
Working with writers on big-picture development of their work, way before the final proofreading stage.
Line Editing
After development is complete, but when things are still fluid enough that major changes could occur.
Copyediting
Making it all come together according to whatever house style is required. Grammar, spelling, point of view, and any fact-checking needed usually take place at this stage.
Proofreading
The final polish. I typically do this with Word docs and then again with PDFs after layout takes place.
Production Editing
Working with text at the layout stage in a program like InDesign or InCopy.
